AmyPodiarist

Hi. I’m Amy, one of the Podiatrists at the Hatt Clinic and I joined the team in 2017 after graduating in podiatry from Southampton University. As a new graduate I really wanted to work at a private practice – especially one that would offer me support, training and future career progression. So I was absolutely ecstatic when I got accepted for this role at the Hatt’s.

Writing this article, it’s almost been a year that I’ve been here – and I couldn’t imagine a better place to work. As a Podiatrist it’s fantastic to have the support of a multidisciplinary clinic that allows me to manage my patients holistically wherever possible. I treat a wide variety of dermatological conditions and we use the latest equipment – Swift and Clearanail to name a few – which means better patient outcomes and happier patients! Over this past year I’ve learnt a huge variety of other skills as well such as verrucae needling and dermoscopy which I may not have had the opportunity to learn elsewhere.

I have been really lucky that the clinic have been so supportive of my
transition from University to Work. Since starting I have had weekly coaching, peer reviews, observations and funding to support any external training or CPD I need. When I started, my line manager asked me where I would like to progress to during my career – and for me my dream has always been to do musculoskeletal podiatry.

Over the last year I have been trained and supported to transition into this role which has allowed my dream to become a reality! Working at the Hatt Clinic provides scope for you to realise your career aspirations as well as being actively involved in the future development of the service. If you have a good idea or suggestion it can be implemented into the service which feels fantastic to be a part of.

Alongside this, Hatt’s love to encourage a positive work-life balance so there are numerous other staff benefits such as an active social calendar (BBQ’S, skiing, weekends away), generous holiday allowance and a staff wellness programme, as well as working with a bunch of genuinely lovely positive people.

I honestly can’t imagine a better place to work and I’m really excited to be part of a fantastic team.
