Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have previous experience in a healthcare setting?
Although previous healthcare or clinic experience is advantageous, it isn’t essential for joining our Patient Services team.
We welcome people with a positive, can-do attitude, who are open to coaching, training, and regular feedback. What’s most important to us is that you’re friendly, organised, adaptable and genuinely care about providing a great experience for our patients.
We’ll provide you with the training and support you need to develop your knowledge and confidence in the role.
Is there opportunity for progression within this role?
Absolutely. We like to work to your strengths and support you in developing your skills and career. Through regular 1:1s with your line manager, we’ll discuss your goals, identify areas you’d like to develop and create a plan to help you progress.
Once you’re fully established in your role, there may also be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and project work alongside your day-to-day Patient Services duties. This could allow you to develop new skills, contribute to the wider business and explore areas that particularly interest you.
For those looking to progress within Patient Services, there is the opportunity to work towards roles such as Senior Patient Services Coordinator and Patient Services Lead. We want to help you build on your strengths and provide opportunities to grow with Hatt Clinic.
Are my working hours likely to change?
As part of the head office team, your working hours tend to be from 8.30am until 5pm but there is an option to work flexible hours and also to work remotely for some of your week depending on your role.
Would you contribute towards my pension?
Yes, we contribute up to 3% and we encourage you where possible to contribute also.
How much annual leave is available?
Annual leave at Hatt’s is generous because we appreciate how hard everyone works and how important rest and recuperation is. You will receive 6.5 weeks of annual leave (including bank holidays) which increases to 7.5 weeks the longer you are with the company.
Is there parking outside the clinics?
There is free parking available within a 5-minute walk to our Frome and Devizes clinics. There is a pay and display car park right outside our Marlborough clinic and free parking around a 15-minute walk away from the clinic.
Can you tell me more about your social events?
We believe in taking the time to celebrate our team and enjoy time together outside of the clinic. Each year, we organise a company-wide weekend away in September, giving everyone the opportunity to unwind, relax and have fun with colleagues.
We also host an annual Christmas dinner and awards evening, where we come together to celebrate the team’s achievements and recognise individual contributions.
Throughout the year the Patient Services team also enjoys organising smaller social events, which can range from meals out and drinks to activities such as escape rooms. There’s always something to look forward to, and our social events are a great way to build relationships and get to know colleagues outside of the working environment.
