TOENAIL CARE
Do you find it tricky to cut your own toenails?
Maybe it’s awkward to find a position where you can reach your toenails, see what you’re doing and cut them safely.
Perhaps your toenails are thickened and difficult to cut. Or maybe you don’t have the best tools for the job.
You could risk cutting the nail too short, cutting the wrong part of the nail, or ripping the edge of the nail. In some cases, this can leave you open to injury and infection.
Our foot care specialists will help to cut and care for your toenails to ensure they’re healthy and in good condition.
Your foot care specialist will give you a soothing foot bath and assess the length of your toenails.
We’ll check your toenails for signs of fungus and conditions like psoriatic nails and melanonychia.
Your foot care specialist will cut and file your nails to make sure they’re smooth and the right thickness.
Your feet will be conditioned with urea cream, which breaks down dead skin cells and increases moisture retention.
Your foot care specialist will show you how to care for your feet between appointments and give footwear advice where needed.

There’s no need to be embarrassed. Our foot care specialists see all kinds of toenails and only want to help you get the care you need.
If you need reassurance, read our article on why foot embarrassment shouldn’t stop you from seeing a podiatrist.
The perfect frequency for most patients is 6-8 weeks.
Not at all. Professional toenail cutting is for everyone and can be particularly beneficial if the nails are thickened or more tricky to cut.
We can also check the health of your toenails and offer other services that might be right for you, like an indulgent Medi Pedi.
Commonly, we can make the toenail more comfortable if it’s rough from trauma, very thick, or split.
If the issue is more complex, like a fungal nail infection or ingrown toenail, you’ll need further appointments.
Yellow toenails are often a sign of a fungal infection, but could also be due to nail varnish staining or smoking.
Your foot care specialist will be able to diagnose the cause during your appointment.
Remove any nail varnish from your toenails and bring photographs of anything you’ve noticed or feel concerned about on your nails.
