Rob Cunningham’s story

Hi I’m Rob, I have worked for Hatt Health and Movement clinic since 2009. Initially, I worked part-time as a Massage Practitioner alongside a full-time job elsewhere. I enjoyed my role so much that I took on a full-time role in 2013 and I haven’t looked back since. With the support of my managers I have continued to develop and am now am the head of the Manual Therapy department, part of the culture team, and on the management team.

The support from my managers has included internal and external training where I have developed my understanding of the human body and in particular the soft-tissue muscles and fascia. With this backing and the support from my colleagues, I have developed my skills and become a very confident Manual Therapist who has the tools to help people when they are in pain and discomfort. This is what gets me out of bed in the morning, knowing that I’m working for a company that has a real focus on helping people and changing their lives.

For me, it’s really important to have a job or career where you get fulfillment and enjoyment from what you do, and I definitely feel this working at Hatt’s. Everyone supports, inspires, and motivates each other daily to be the best version of ourselves. We are there for each other as a team and we enjoy each other’s company both in and outside of work. Whether that’s going away for a weekend and skiing or surfing, having a summer BBQ, or just going out for a bite to eat. The one thing to be sure of is that there will be lots of laughter and I’ve definitely made friends for life.

The internal training programme where teams come together to share their knowledge and experience to help each other develop is fantastic. It encourages us to challenge ourselves, improve our standards and help drive the business forward – never standing still and always looking for the next exciting opportunity.

The 1:1s are brilliant and I also love how the Senior members of the team help newcomers develop their skills from the outset with coaching and peer reviews, alongside a very comprehensive induction program. Personally, I have never come across a company that invests in you as a person and helps you develop more than this one. It’s definitely one of the main reasons for my longevity at the company. I have developed so much both on a personal and professional level during my time here.

All in all, I can honestly say that my time at Hatt’s so far has flown by and I’m looking forward to many more years to come.
